Taylor Swift at Staples Center Los Angeles, CA
Downtown Los Angeles was filled with sparkles, confetti, country music lovers, and Taylor Swift over the past weekend. With back to back, sold-out shows, Taylor performed a full show that combined spectacle, surprise cameos, and hit songs from her latest album titled: Speak Now. In addition to using Aerial dancers, the show also featured fireworks and moving platforms that carried Taylor from one side of the Staples center all the way to the opposite side – this was the highlight of the night for fans in the nosebleed seats!
Of course the pop-country singer remained faithful to her original image with the help of her band when she played the folk hits, “Mean,” and “Our Song.” But it was refreshing to see a tougher side of the star when she performed “Haunted,” a new single that showcases the edgier rockstar side of Taylor Swift. Later, the audience was re-energized when she played several acoustic covers including Maroon 5’s “This Love,” a mashup of “Hey Soul Sister,” and Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours,” and the hit classic “Bette Davis Eyes.” Finally, she surprised the audience when she invited Hot Chelle Rae to come on stage and perform “Tonight Tonight.”
Overall, the night was the perfect showcase for the singer’s growth since her Fearless Tour, displaying her versatility as a musician and making her comparable to other headlining pop tours like Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga.
